Madhuri dixit Madhuri dixit Indian actress famous for Hum Aapke Hai Koun (Beta Saajan) and Beta Saajan is one of the most popular Indian actors. Her career began acting in the late 1980s. She became famous for Tezaab, a film starring the veteran actor Anil Kooor. Then she appeared in the film Dil where she shared the screen with Aamir Khan. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai she started learning dance at an early age. At the age of 15, she started acting but struggled as many films she made were not successful. Then she found her feet and went on to become one of the most prominent actors in the Indian film industry. She took a break from acting due to her marriage, before going back to the industry of entertainment. Recently, she was a key player as a character in Gulaab Gang a movie about the struggle of Indian women. Dixit has been nominated 15 times for Filmfare Awards. She won 8 of them. Padma Shri - the fourth highest civilian honor in India awarded to Dixit. Also, she is well acknowledged for her work in the field of charity.
